How to Customize and beautify the look of Windows 10

While Windows 10 looks soft on the outside, you may still be wondering how Windows 10 can look any better. Here we explain how to customize and beautify the Windows 10 desktop.

Follow these methods to change the look of Windows and make your computer livelier once again.

1. Set a new wallpaper and lock screen background

One of the easiest ways to get a new look for your PC and Windows 10 desktop is to choose a desktop wallpaper that suits your interests. To do this, open the settings program (using the keyboard shortcut Win + I) and enter the Personalization section.

Here, in the Background tab, you will find various options related to your desktop wallpaper. In the Background drop-down box, select the image to use as a single image. To select an image from your computer, tap the Browse button below this option. If you need your ideas, take a look at some great sites to find new wallpapers.

If you want to go beyond a static image, try setting a slideshow. Select a folder full of images on your computer, and Windows will change them at intervals that you set.

At the bottom, you can choose how your images will fit on the screen if they are not the right size. If you are unsure, Fill is probably the best show.

While here, go to the Lock screen tab to select an image for that page. Just like a desktop, you can select a single image or a slideshow.

2. Paint Windows with your favorite color

Stay in the Personalization window, there is another option for easy customization in the Colors section. Choose your favorite color and you can apply that color to all windows.

If you do not like any of the standard colors, open the Custom color option for more grain control. After selecting one of the options, check both boxes under Show accent color on the following surfaces to start it in the program title bars as well as Windows elements such as Taskbar and Start.

In this menu, you can also disable the transparency effects of Windows 10 and choose between light and dark modes. If you hate blinding white lights, this is a better original method for Windows 10.

3. Set a profile picture

The general gray silo that represents your Windows 10 account is boring. You can design your account with a custom photo, which is especially useful on multi-user systems.

To do this, go to your Settings> Accounts> Your info. Here you can select the camera to take a new photo with your webcam, or search for one to upload a photo from your PC.

Once configured, you will see this icon in several places around the Windows interface.

4. Review the Start menu

It is likely that you will often use the Start menu to launch applications and search for your files. To simplify it, you need to remove unwanted tiles and programs that you do not care about.

To quickly remove the application tile from the Start menu, right-click on it and select Unpin from Start. You can also right-click on the group name and select Unpin group from Start to clear all tiles in a group.

Next, you can use the list to the right of the tile by dragging the programs that are actually using the list. These act as shortcuts, and live tile applications can even be updated in real time with new information.

While in the Start menu, you should also take the time to remove Windows 10 bloatware. Advanced users who do not like the Windows 10 Start menu may use Start menu replacement programs instead.
